Welcome,

from Rachel 😊

You deserve tools that actually help

If you've ever felt overwhelmed by a blank journal page, pressured by toxic positivity, or like you're "failing" at self-care—you're not alone. I've been there too.

I'm Rachel, and I created Give Yourself Kindness because I couldn't find what I needed during my own recovery. After experiencing the life-changing impact of Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), I went searching for tools to continue my journey. What I found instead made things worse: journals that amplified my inner critic, affirmations that felt empty, and advice that dismissed the reality that we all experience difficult emotions.

I knew there had to be something better—so I created it.

What makes Give Yourself Kindness different

Expert-backed, not guesswork
The Give Yourself Kindness journal has been backed by leading self-compassion and mindfulness researchers, including Dr. Chris Germer (co-developer of Mindful Self-Compassion). Every prompt is grounded in self-compassion research—not generic positivity. This isn't trendy wellness; it's science-backed support that honors the full human experience.

Recommended by the professionals who use it
Clinical psychologists, therapists, and self-compassion researchers in the UK, US, and Canada recommend Give Yourself Kindness to their clients and colleagues. Read expert reviews →

Created by someone who truly gets it
I'm a qualified meditation teacher (DipBSoM, British School of Meditation, distinction—externally accredited by Ofqual). More importantly, I know what it's like when your inner voice feels impossible to quiet and when you need tools that actually work—not just sound good.

What makes our journal unique
Unlike traditional gratitude journals that can inadvertently can reinforce self-criticism or toxic positivity, the Give Yourself Kindness journal uses carefully designed prompts that:

  • Validate difficult emotions rather than bypass them
  • Soften your inner critic instead of amplifying it
  • Guide you through self-compassion practices proven to help
  • Meet you wherever you are—no "perfect" answers required
